week starting 25th october

Its been a while sorry if you have been following but as usual it been a very busy season so will update blogg weakly from now on.
Well this season has been one of the driest, recorded rain fall levels show a third less to date on the previous two seasons. The course has went back after this weeks rain with condition underfoot allot softer.
This week tees & approaches cut, greens brushed cut twice,
Course set up in the mornings takes longer at this time of year as leaves, pine needles need blown and removed.
We have started addressing areas that are overgrowing and encroaching on the course see fliker account

With the adverse weather we seen this week the facility got some much needed work cleaning organising parts etc
Painting duties markers hole cups pins etc all started.
Machinery will start to be striped down and prepared for winter overhauls
Health safety is very important these days and the facility has two inspections a year so we have to be on top of all aspects of H&S. This week I started updating my staffs training manual and all relevant info in staff quarters.
We moved the temporary astroturf path at 10th to get the golfer up to the 11th tee. We will be installing a path to the left side of the green this winter so next season trolleys can access the 11th tee from the back 10th green.
For the next four months all staff on winter hours so it is a reduced working week.
